Bonaventure Uwizeyimana of Rwanda was just the second U23 man to get underway on the two lap 30 kilometer course around downtown Richmond, VA. I had the pleasure of meeting this quite young man last Friday night. He had opted to come to an art cycling event at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts rather than attend the opening ceremonies for the UCI World Road Racing Championships. I learned that he had never been in an art museum before, he claimed to be quite impressed. The Rwandan Cycling Federation has come to help the US get a new impression of their country.
