Rcihmond 2015 UCI Worlds: Starting His Bid

In the wisdom of people who seem to think they know best, there is no coverage of any of the Junior races, such a shame.  I have been left to use social media sources like Facebook and Twitter.  This painting is from the latter provided by the Belgium Cycling Federation.  This is the moment just after Jasper Philipsen left the start house on his way in search of a Gold Medal and the coveted Rainbow Jersey. By virtue of his early start, Philipsen finished with a new best time but it didn't stand up when the highest seeded riders started finishing in about an hour.  In fact his time was good enough to wind him up in sixth place.

This is a small original painting that was create using Yarka St. Petersburg watercolors and Steve Quiller brushes from www.richesonart.com.  I am painting these works live at the Greater Richmond Convention Center right next to the awards podium.  You can come out to the Fanfest in the GRCC and watch me paint and then buy the original or one of two different sized prints.  Later they will be able to purchased at www.richmond.com.
