Tour de France, Stage 13: To the Line

Sadly, the trio from the previous post was caught, heartbreakingly with just 200 meters left in the stage.  Cycling can be very cruel.  But it was Greg Van Avermaet (BMC) who had the legs to hold off the Green Jersey of Peter Sagan (Tinkoff Saxo).  Sagan's second place helped to pull him away from Andre Greipel (Lotto Soudal) in the points competition for the Maillot Vert.  However, Sagan is still without a stage win in the Tour, a state of affairs that has lasted since 2013.  I am sure he will be getting a bit of criticism from Oleg Tinkoff, the team owner.  Sagan has one of the largest salaries in the pro peloton, and I'm sure Tinkoff would like some stage wins for his money, regardless that Sagan looks poised to win his fourth consecutive Tour de France Sprinter's Point Jersey.

This is a small original watercolor and ink painting that was created using Yarka St. Petersburg watercolors and Steve Quiller brushes from www.richesonart.com.  In addition, this painting is available through my artist website at www.greigleach.com.  To purchase this particular painting for only $60 USD, just follow the direct link at the end of this post.  Remember it is an original painting so when it is gone, it is gone.  I would advise against delaying if you see one you want.  International shipping is available.
